Budget Reconciliation Drug Pricing Plan Misses Multiple Marks

For several years, I’ve held a cynical view that our country might one day decide that it was satisfied with the pharmaceutical drugs we have, and that no more investment in specialty biologics was needed. Instead, the thinking might go, we should get the best with what we have, addressing the greatest good for the greatest number. That day may finally have arrived. Embedded in the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation bill before Congress is an ill-considered plan to reduce Medicare drug costs.
