A recent Health Affairs blog post remembers Donald Lindberg, who died Aug. 17, 2019.
Lindberg played a key role in the development of websites such as PubMed, MedlinePlus.gov, Clinicaltrials.gov and GenBank, just to name a few.
“Overall, I suggest Don’s legacy of accomplishment was based on three special qualities and skills,” the author writes. “In addition to his gift as a visionary, Don was a very capable administrative engineer. He operationalized a vision, such as the digitization of Index Medicus, by breaking it down into diverse cornerstone projects.”
