A major Blue Cross Blue Shield health care plan has moved to implement two of Inovalon’s data solutions, the tech company announced Monday, Jan. 7.
According to a press release, the total number of health plans utilizing its Clinical Data Extraction as a Service (CDEAAS) and Natural Language Processing as a Service (NLPaaS) has risen to 14.

The company’s NLPaaS offering implements natural language processing and machine learning to “identify and convert structured and unstructured data within clinical medical records into meaningful clinical insights … .”
“The application of Inovalon’s CDEaaS and NLPaaS solutions enables greater quality and outcomes, drives expanded financial efficiencies, and reduces the time to obtain, interpret, and analyze clinical data from weeks down to minutes while delivering superior accuracy, completeness and consistency,” Inovalon CEO and Board Chairman Keith Dunleavy said in a statement.
