Article Highlights Causes, Potential Solutions for High Drug Prices

While there are “no easy solutions” to high drug prices, there are a number of steps that could help wrangle prices, according to a recent article published in Nature.

The author, S. Vincent Rajkumar, writes that global prescription drug spending is set to hit roughly $1.3 trillion this year, with the U.S. expected to account for about $350 billion of that.

“The high cost of prescription drugs threatens healthcare budgets, and limits funding available for other areas in which public investment is needed,” Rajkumar writes.
