AMCP Partnership Forum on Biosimilars Identifies Adoption Challenges and RWE Solutions

The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) Partnership Forum met in December 2020 to discuss the use of biosimilars in healthcare. The cross-disciplinary stakeholders examined barriers to biosimilar use in the United States and how real world evidence (RWE), among other strategies, can advance biosimilar adoption. Meeting highlights are discussed in an article published in the Journal of Managed Care and Specialty Pharmacy (JMCP).

“Areas of opportunity highlighted by participants included demystifying information and developing strong, positive messaging around biologics and biosimilars; improving confidence in biosimilars by using tools such as education and RWE; implementing organizational strategies to ease biosimilar adoption; and updating legislation and regulation to reduce barriers related to biosimilars.” Read more here.
