Americas Health Insurance Plans believes a slower, more concentrated expansion of health reimbursement arrangements by regulators will be be one of the keys to widespread success and adoption, according to a HealthPayerIntelligence report.
The organization says HRAs could “create new opportunities for businesses of all sizes to offer new coverage options to their employees while strengthening the individual market with new potential enrollees.”
Employers under a recent proposal by the Department of Labor, Department of the Treasuring and Health and Human Services could extend to employees $1,8000 each year to help cover health expenses. AHIP’s remarks come in response to a request for comment on the proposal.
“We ask the agencies to consider the impact of these new arrangements on employer-provided coverage and how to best advance innovations across market segments,” AHIP said.
