This article is part of a series focused on calculating shared savings from value-based health care improvement solutions. There is no formal set of best practices and neither is there any single entity heading the development of best practices for monetization of healthcare value. This has led to confusion and lack of standardization that has only worsened in the face of rapid growth in value-based contracting between payers and providers. Estimates of the monetary value derived from value-based health care practices can only be achieved if such estimates are standardized, robust, and derived from a formal set of best practices.
