Accountable Care Organizations Generate $1.19 billion in Savings to Medicare

CMS recently announced that accountable care organizations generated $1.19 billion in total net savings to Medicare in 2019, proving the success of its revamped ACO program. In July 2019, CMS kicked-off its revamped accountable care organization program, called Pathways to Success, which allowed ACOs to take on more risk more quickly. The National Association of Accountable Care Organizations worried that fewer ACOs were taking part in the program. Read more here.
