An Abt Associates-led team was recently awarded a $28.8 million two-year contract to study COVID-19 transmission.
Abt Associates in an announcement says the study will assess transmissibility, rates of infection an illness for key population groups, clinical epidemiology of the disease and characteristics of medically and non-medically attended cases.
“The research questions we aim to answer will provide much needed data for decision-making for one of the most important public health responses of our lifetime,” Abt’s Christopher Spera said in a statement. “It will expand our understanding of this evolving pandemic, and, ultimately, save lives.”
