Abbvie HEOR Expert Shares Thoughts on RWE and Improving Health Equity

Christopher Boone, Vice President and global head of HEOR (health economics and research outcomes) at Abbvie, recently gave an informative keynote presentation at HIMSS’ Accelerate Health event. He’s hopeful that incorporating RWE (real world evidence) into clinical trials will speed up drug development and reduce costs. He also notes the importance of addressing racism and inequity via a strategic plan of action.

According to Dr. Boone, “We have to find ways to better understand the needs of each other to better foster a world of trust and transparency in hopes that we can really build this learning healthcare system of more cross-sector partnerships that will enable better science, better clinical care. … Ultimately what we hope is faster, and better, and cheaper clinical discovery and development efforts of drug therapies.” Read more here.
