95 Pharma-Backed Oncologists Support Woodcock for FDA Commissioner

Dr. Janet Woodcock has faced widespread criticism as news spread that she was being considered for Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner. It has now been revealed that some of her supporters received a substantial amount of pharma funding. Another potential contender, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, has gained backing upon his push for COVID-19 vaccines.

“One supportive letter was signed by 95 oncologists, many of whom work for some of the most prestigious cancer centers and universities across the U.S. And since nearly two-thirds of those physicians and researchers accepted considerably more industry money than most doctors over the past several years, it is being held out as an example of the need for a fresh start at the top of the FDA.” Read more here.
