The International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research has published its “Top 10 Trends in Health Economics and Outcomes Research” rundown for 2018.
According to a press release, the list “reflects the top trends that key ISPOR members indicate will have the most influence in the field of health economics and outcomes research … over the coming year.”
Below are the top trends detailed in the ISPOR report:
- Drug pricing and spending;
- Innovative and curative therapies;
- Accelerated drug approvals;
- Universal health coverage;
- Aging population;
- Preventive medicine; and
- Disruptive innovators.
ISPOR in its report breaks down each individual trend, offering a brief summary on their impact in HEOR and abroad.
“The trends are many and complex, but this report will distill the top 10 that the Society members identified as having the most impact during 2018,” according to an executive summary. “ISPOR members will continue to explore these trends, and many others throughout the year at conferences and through the Society’s working groups, councils and roundtables all over the world.”
