Dr. Mshilla Maghanga
What is your HE-Artist talent or skill? Please describe.
Apart from academics, I also do fine art (drawing/painting). I have also started a Consultancy Firm called Mshilla M&B Consultants Ltd in post-conflict northern Uganda in East Africa.

How long have you been doing this?
I started fine art from my school days and moved to canvas painting about 15 years ago. As for the firm, it has been there now for two years.
Why did you start doing this?
While at my primary school, I used to draw pictures as part of class work. My teachers and classmates felt that I had a talent in drawing and I was involved in drawing exhibition and competition pictures for my school. With the encouragement, I moved on to develop the talent. I however, never did fine art as subject or attend any fine art school. To move to water paints and acrylics painting I got some tutoring from a fine artist.
What makes you love doing this?
The fact that people get amused that I can paint has inspired me. I have hanged some of my drawings in my house and on many occasions visitors have shown their amazement to my work. I must admit that since this is not my main occupation, I sometimes go for several months without doing any drawing.
What is your current job?
I am a lecturer at a University and at the same time I carry out consultancy work as outlined in the website of my firm.
How long have you been working in the field of health economics and outcomes research?
I have carried out some researches on health economics and I also participated in the International Health Economists Association conference in Zurich Switzerland last year where I had a poster presentation.
