Divina Glah

Divina Glah_page imageWhat is your HE-Artist talent or skill?
I am an accessories designer with particular focus on eclectic African inspired jewelry.

Is there a website where we can learn more?
www.reginarox.com

Why did you start doing this?
I started making jewelry as a hobby last summer and decided to sell my pieces because I was getting a lot of interest. golden handshakeI’ve always been entrepreneurial at heart and so decided to start making new pieces as a part time pursuit. I named the company Regina Rox London (Regina is my middle name and I wanted a current alliterative second name) and it has been going well ever since. I take inspiration from my cultures – being of Ghanaian heritage I often go to Ghana and see the amazing glass beads ladies wear at special occasions such as weddings and church events and I loved the vivid colours and imagery. So I take a lot of inspiration from that – but I also mix elements of being born and raised in London to my pieces to give it an eclectic feel.

Heart charmerWhat makes you love doing this?
I like being creative and knowing that I have made something that someone likes. It’s definitely a world away from my day job and it’s a talking point among colleagues.

How long have you been working in the field of health economics and outcomes research?
I have been working in consultancy, academia and in industry for the past 2 years.

And now, a few questions just for fun!

  1. What was your favorite food when you were a child?
Fried plantains (a type of banana popular in west African cuisine)
  2. What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod or musical device?
    Loveeeee Song by Rihanna
  3. What sound do you love?
I have quite an eclectic taste – I love everything from Hans Zimmer’s movie soundtrack music to pop, dance, alternative and R&B
  4. If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for?
I would throw a decorating party so people could come to my house, eat finger food, drink wine and decorate my spare room!
  5. If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
I would choose Tyra Banks – she is multi-talented , smart, business-minded and is goofy and fun too.
  6. If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?
The construction of the pyramids in Cairo, Egypt.
  7. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
I would like to meet Bill Gates.
  8. What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
My first car – which after several attempts of passing my driving test I thought I may never do.
