The MS in Applied Health Care Economics (AHCE) at Washington & Jefferson College is a low-residence program designed to provide mid-career health care professionals with the essential economic skills, knowledge of multidisciplinary health services and understanding of data analysis necessary to advance their careers.
Students will learn from expert faculty who work in the real-world, and study population health outcomes management, health technology/cost-effectiveness assessment, health care financing and behavioral economics, ”Big Data”, ACO’s and Provider Risk Contracts, pharmaceutical drug utilization, and reducing “high-risk” consumer health behavior. The AHCE is a blended learning program. Students will complete five week-long residential teaching modules over 20 months, supplemented by online learning.
