Vertex Pharmaceuticals has named Ludovic Fenaux as the company’s new senior vice president of international commercial operations, according to a pharmaphorum report.
Fenaux will reportedly oversee commercial activities outside of the U.S. and Canada, including operations throughout Europe, Australia and Latin America.
Vertex’s appointment comes as the company spars with the U.K.’s National Health Service to fund Orkambi for cystic fibrosis.
The new executive brings with him some two decades in the pharmaceutical industry, having most recently served as the head of intercontinental region at Bristol-Myers Squibb, according to the report.
“I am excited to be joining Vertex at a time when the company is not only pursuing medicines that treat cystic fibrosis but also investing in other serious diseases, tackling the biggest challenges in medicine,” Fenaux said.
