In a letter to the editor on Washington Post, Unite Here President Donald Taylor, of Las Vegas, touted Nevada’s law which pushes for transparency on insulin pricing.
Nevada’s Republican Governor Brian Sandoval signed the insulin pricing transparency law, which forces manufacturers to report production and marketing costs. Pharmaceutical sales representatives must also disclose visits with doctors and any incentives they may have given.
“Big Pharma wasn’t happy,” Taylor writes. “Mark my word: It will do anything to make sure this legislation does not become a model for other states — and certainly not in congress.”
