A recent survey by Managed Healthcare Executive (MHE) of 200 executives offers a look inside at the roadmap and expectations of the health care industry going into 2019.
The survey was conducted during the third quarter of this year, and includes input from provider organizations, benefit management organizations, health plans, long-term care organizations and group purchasing organizations.
According to MHE, 32 percent of the participants said the most significant hurdle facing organizations is adapting to policy changes and government mandates. Thirty percent said value-based care and population health management was the biggest challenge.
“It’s no surprise that value-based care/population health management was voted as one of the biggest challenges,” Allegheny Health Network President and CEO Cynthia Hundorfean tells MHE. “Many organizations across the U.S. are talking about value-based care and population health management, but few are gaining traction in the implementation.”
