According to a new survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF), more Americans blame the pharmaceutical industry for high drug prices, with 79 percent describing drug prices as “unreasonable.”
The report also found broad bipartisan support for legislative action to curb prices.
A majority of Americans, however, also blame pharmacy benefit managers for high prices.
“While the public sees profits made by pharmaceutical companies as a major factor contributing to the price of prescription drugs (80 percent), a majority (63 percent) also say profits made by pharmacy benefit managers … are a ‘major factor’ contributing to the price of prescription drugs,” the report states.
