A recent report by BioPharma Dive looks at a host of proposals by states across the country which aim to bolster drug pricing transparency.
One such transparency-centric proposal in Colorado, House Bill 19-1131, would require drugmakers provide prescribers with a drug’s sticker price.
National Academy for State Health Policy’s Jennifer Reck says transparency is generally viewed as big first step toward other drug pricing initiatives.
“A lot of states start with transparency, and see transparency as a foundational step before moving on to other policy or regulatory efforts building off what they learn,” she tells MHE.
