PRMA Consulting published its highlights of a recent meeting with CAR-T and indication-specific pricing experts from across the EU5 countries.
The meeting, according to PRMA Consulting, “focused on the variability among countries of payers’ and policy-makers’ attitudes to innovative pricing, and the practical challenges for implementation of complex pricing schemes capable of satisfying a range of country requirements.”
Some of the highlights included in the report:
- Complex pricing schemes have resulted in “mixed experiences” among EU countries in the past, and obstacles to implementation are “recognized and understood”;
- Schemes must be well-designed, and the burden of implementation must be proportional to the possible benefits; and
- Outcomes-based payment models “based on response rates are not the preferred solution for payers.”
