Preparing for a COVID-19 Vaccine

A recent Health Affairs blog post considers the challenges that lie ahead of a potential COVID-19 vaccine.
The rollout of a vaccine, the authors, Cecelia Thomas and Amy Pisani, write, “will require massive preparation and precise coordination.”
“While state and local public health immunization programs have extensive experience distributing and tracking government-supplied vaccines to children through the Vaccines for Children program, managing vaccination of adults will require more staff, more resources, and additional IT capacity,” they write.
