Patients for Affordable Drugs (P4AD) is each month recognizing “price fighting heroes” as a wave of patients, advocates, companies and organizations calling for lower drug prices continues to expand.
The organization this month recognized former Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) administrator Andy Slavitt and California patient advocate Rebecca Hall.
Slavitt was honored “thanks to his leadership at CMS and his determination in standing up to the pharmaceutical industry,” P4AD Excutive Director Ben Wakana said in an email. Hall, who is a metastatic breast cancer advocate and patient, uses her first-hand experience with the disease to bolster awareness.
“Her openness is a comfort to fellow patients and an inspiration to us all,” Wakana writes in his email.
