Patients for Affordable Drugs (P4AD) announced its “Price Fighting Heroes” for January: Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Leah Clark, a patient advocate.
The organization says Klobuchar was honored for her willingness to work toward bipartisan, patient-centric solutions. The Minnesota Democrat recently collaborated with Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley to bring forward a bill aimed at fighting “abusive pay-for-delay tactics that keep lower-priced” competitors off the market.
Clark, of Wisconsin, relies on high-cost biologics to help manage her Crohn’s Disease.
“In November, Leah traveled to Washington, DC to advocate for patients like herself in the fight for lower drug prices,” P4AD said in an email.
