Lessons From U.K.’s NICE

A recent opinion piece published on BMJ looks at some of the key lessons to be gleaned the U.K.’s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.

Tara Lamont, director of the NIHR Dissemination Centre, writes that while there was some skepticism about the agency at its birth, it has “developed sophisticated processes to assess evidence, involving many stakeholders in an open way.”

” … In which people look for simple answers, we can be proud of an institution which celebrates the complexity of decision making,” she writes.
