The pharmaceutical industry, citing concerns over innovation, has consistently pushed back against the U.S. government’s efforts to tame drug prices. But what impact would pricing controls actually have on innovation?
According to a MedCity News article, the issue is a complicated one with a number of variables.
“It’s clear that if you basically reduce total spending on patent drugs, there will be some effect,” University of Calgary’s Aidan Hollis tells MedCity News. “How large the effect is is a questionable issue.”
