After assuming the House majority in January, Democrats will look to vote to protect health care coverage for individuals with preexisting conditions, the Washington Post reports.
Rep. Richard E. Neal, a Democrat and upcoming chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, stressed a vote should happen as soon as possible.
“We need a vote on preexisting conditions right away,” Neal said Wednesday following the election. “We said that was one of the cornerstones of the ACA. After they saw how badly their position was polling on it, they said there were for it.”
