Drugmakers Amgen, Merck and Eli Lilly are suing the Trump administration over its recent rule requiring pharmaceutical companies to include a drug’s list price in television ads, STAT reports.
The Association of National Advertisers is also involved in the lawsuit, according to the report.
Amgen in a statement pointed to “freedom of speech concerns,” and that the prices included in ads fails to factor in a number of different variables that influence the price consumers actually pay.
“Americans deserve accurate information about the price they will pay for prescription drugs,” the lawsuit states.
