The Centers for Medicare and Medcaid Services (CMS) plans to award some $30 million in grants to clinical societies, organizations and research organizations.
The grant funding, according to CMS, aims to allow organizations to fully develop measures in accordance with the Medicare Access and Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA).
“This funding opportunity will be used for developing, improving, updating or expanding quality measures for use in the Quality Payment Program under the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System and/or Advanced Alternative Payment Models,” according to the grant announcement.
Applications for the grant funding are due Sept. 30; CMS plans to announce awardees Nov. 30. According to the CMS announcement, the funding will be split between 10 organizations.
