The path to gender parity in the health care industry doesn’t have a straightforward solution, Medical Marketing and Media (MMM) reports.
“The companies know they are at a point where there is no point for maneuver,” Healthcare Businesswoman’s Association CEO Laurie Cooke said. “You’re on the boat or you’re not.”
However, due to conflicting ideas about how to solve gender disparities in the corporate atmosphere, the “pathway to partiy isn’t that simple,” MMM reports.
“I’m not going to sit here and say it doesn’t exist,” FCB Health CEO Dana Maiman said. “The more we start to uncover it, the more we realize it exists. It’s so ingrained. Implicit bias goes way beyond gender, race and blinethnicity.”
The FCB network is one such entity which has taken conscious steps to relieve some of the pressure. According to MMM, the network utilized “unconscious bias training” and has considered blind resumes.
