Home Medical Equipment and Value-Based Care

Although value-based care models have become increasingly prevalent in recent years, they have yet to be implemented in several areas of care, including home medical equipment (HME). Speakers at a Medtrade panel session discussed the importance of moving to such models and what that entails for the HME industry.

According to Alan Hunt of Hart Home Medical Equipment, “You’re not the only ones struggling to define this. Health systems are still trying to figure this out, as well. Our health systems are looking at us as a utility – how can you help us meet our value-based care needs? We’re an important piece of the puzzle, but we’re all still trying to figure out where we belong,”
